Me too, I also put pasta and cooked rice, for which I incur the scorn of the 'Compost Community' "It attracts rats" they say. In my experience any rotting food matter is fair game for them and anyway I don't mind the odd rat running around the back yard, it's when they get into the house that a problem arises.

I put banana peels in my compost all the time and it seems none the worse for it.
